Some companies and influencers advertise products that are supposed to help you get rid of that unpopular belly fat fast. You are promised that you only have to do this one 10-minute abdominal workout to get a six-pack. The fat will virtually disappear all by itself, without much effort. But is such a thing even possible?
The answer is clearly: No. It is not possible to lose fat selectively. Everyone puts on fat in different places. Some people tend to lose fat on their legs, others on their arms or even on their belly. If we want to lose weight in a certain body region, we have to reduce the body fat percentage as a whole. And this can't be done with a 10-minute workout alone.
1. burn fat through sports
If the goal is to burn fat, you should definitely not skip the cardio part of the workout. High-intensity interval training (HIIT for short) is the most suitable. In this type of sport, you do exercises in the anaerobic zone in a short period of time. Here, the body is exhausted to the point of exhaustion and it only receives very short recovery phases between the exercises. This ensures maximum oxygen uptake in the muscle.
2. build muscle mass
If you train your muscles, you can also reduce your own body fat percentage. Because the more muscle mass you have, the greater the basal metabolic rate of calories. An increase in muscles therefore means a higher burning of calories and fat for the body. During sports, as well as at rest. Therefore, in addition to cardio training, it is still worthwhile to do strength training.
3. nutrition is the be-all and end-all
If you really want to burn fat, you have to do more than just exercise. You've probably heard the phrase "Abs are made in the kitchen" before. It means something like: Abs are made in the kitchen. And that pretty much sums it up. You can exercise as much as you want. If the diet is not right, you will wait a long time for success. So if you want to burn fat and gain visible abs, you need to combine cardio with strength training and optimize your diet. At least 80% of the food you eat during the day should be healthy. That way, you can still treat yourself to things like pizza from time to time.
